There are as many ways to draw as there are hands to do so with, but there are certain foundation techniques which can enhance the individual eye and thereby improve the quality of one's outcome when attempting to capture what the outer or inner eye perceives.
One point perspectives is one such technique. Very seldom does a drawing look that well when it is drawn flat...that is without perspective. It is perspective that makes a drawing unique.
It would be like ignoring lighting as a way to draw. It can be done, but more than likely the outcome would not be as pleasing to the eye as the way shadows catch on edges and highlight and or emphasize what is viewed.
